Luck
Luck represents the small, unpredictable ways the world bends around you. It is not a talent you master, but a measure of how often things go your way or against you when it matters most.
Everyone starts with one point in luck.
Positive luck
- You can spend a luck point once in every combat or scene. Doing so allows to to reroll one of your rolls.
- With positive luck black dice do not explode (roll again on roll of 6).
- You can spend a point of Luck permanently to save yourself from a life or death situation.
Zero Luck
- Black dice (penalty / difficulty dice) explode (roll again on roll of 6)
Negative Luck
- Negative luck can be rolled by the GM to change a normal scenario into a life endangering situation.
Changing Luck
Luck changes are rare and determined by the GM. It may increase or decrease following significant moments, especially when your character makes a defining choice or takes part in an event with real consequence. Actions that strongly reflect or go against, your character’s beliefs or outlook are the most likely to affect it. This of course depends on your characters personal outlook and the strength of those convictions.
There are items, people and beings that can adjust luck.
A character may gain Luck when:
- Remaining true to their convictions despite significant hardship.
- Making meaningful sacrifices.
- Achieving a major personal goal.
A character may lose Luck when:
- Betraying their convictions.
- Failing a defining test of character.
- Becoming cursed or touched by malign supernatural forces.
